Team Dynamics
A shared language for pressure, uncertainty and what happens in between
Four facilitated workshops, translating emotional complexity into working tools fitted to what the organisation is trying to do. They run with engineering, product, design, sales, operations and mixed leadership groups alike.
Triggers
The situations that lead here
They are usually described as planning or delivery problems. Underneath, it is communication under pressure.
- Planning sessions stall and the same argument returns each quarter
- Capable people go quiet in meetings and loud in corridors
- Feedback is either absent or lands as blame
- A reorganisation or a new leader has changed the rules and nobody said so
- Pressure turns disagreements into positions instead of decisions
- Motivation dips and the reasons stay unspoken
The workshops
Four workshops, 60 to 75 minutes per session
The Hero's Journey
An invitation to a personal journey of identifying the automatic response patterns that surface under pressure and uncertainty. Participants examine their own hero stories and acquire practical tools for converting survival responses into adaptive, conscious choices. The process combines narrative work with insights drawn from CBT, to strengthen personal resilience and the ability to function under load. Two sessions: one theoretical, one practical.
Me and the Team
A two-stage workshop examining the internal mechanisms that run us. The first session maps the personal internal types that drive us and how to harness them into regulated, constructive management. The second widens to the team, identifying the dynamics that emerge where different types meet. The aim is to turn automatic patterns into a conscious, synchronised team language. Session one: me. Session two: the team.
Meaning in Professional Work
An examination of the connection between an employee's personal values and the goals of the organisation and the role they fill. Working from the view that meaning is fuel for performance, the session identifies the points of connection that generate internal motivation and long-term commitment. It offers tools for making everyday tasks personally meaningful, strengthening belonging and occupational resilience. One session.
Emotional Preparation for the Roadmap
Gives the team a working language for the dynamics of pressure and uncertainty that characterise complex planning. The session introduces the mechanisms that run us under load and how to recognise them in real time, so blocks and automatic reactions can be managed and the team holds its focus and professional communication under pressure. One preparation session, followed by presence in two or three of the planning sessions themselves, through to the roadmap being made.
The argument
Most of what looks like a delivery problem is communication under pressure
When planning stalls, the explanation reached for is usually technical: estimates, dependencies, capacity. What is actually happening in the room at that moment is generally human, and nobody is naming it: who is not saying what they think, who is defending a position for reasons that are not technical, and what happens to people when there is no certainty.
You cannot process your way out of that. A team needs a shared language that lets them name it in the moment and carry on working.
That is what these workshops are for. They do not replace the work on process and system; they work on the layer that process alone never reaches.

Common questions
Is this a clinical service?
No. It is group facilitation in an organisational context. The tools draw on CBT, narrative practice and psychodrama, but the aim is how the team functions and communicates at work.
How long does a workshop take?
Each session runs 60 to 75 minutes. Some workshops are a single session and some are two, depending on the subject.
Who should attend?
The team that actually works together. A workshop that some of the team attends and some do not produces a language only half the room speaks.
How does this connect to the rest of the work?
A great many delivery problems that present as technical are really problems of communication and decision-making under pressure. These workshops work on that layer, alongside the work on process and system in Growth Strategy.
Pick the workshop your team actually needs
Thirty minutes on what is happening in the team now, and which of these answers it.
